Client-side Ignore Tutorial

Some users have had problems in the past that came from not being familiar with the granularity of their IRC client's Ignore command. Some clients will ignore private messages and CTCP by default, but /INVITE is still allowed through and is shown to the user. This short tutorial is here to point out how you ignore all invites on a few, different clients. Some clients lack an /ignore command, completely, and in those cases, you are encouraged to find a client that has one. You are also encouraged to consult your client's documentation and the web for more details.

Because these examples ignore all invites from everyone, keep in mind that you can get a list of channels to which you've been invited by using the /invite command, by itself, with no arguments (parameters). If this doesn't work, send it as a raw command to the server with the /quote command: /quote invite

Also keep in mind that the server-side /silence command also silences invites: /quote silence +nickname
